Verify before you visit. Opening hours, dog policies, and other details shown here may be out of date or wrong. This is especially true for pubs sourced from OpenStreetMap (marked, not badged "Editor's Pick") — those haven't been individually checked. Always confirm directly with the pub before making plans around what's shown here.

Data sources

Editor's Picks (11 pubs, gold star badge): hand-researched, including web searches of pub websites and write-ups, but not independently verified by visiting or calling. Treat as a strong starting point, not a guarantee.
All other pubs: sourced live from OpenStreetMap contributors, © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Filter tags (dog-friendly, beer garden, etc.) reflect only what's been recorded in OpenStreetMap — absence of a tag does not mean the pub lacks that feature, only that nobody has recorded it yet.
Riverside status for non-curated pubs is calculated automatically from real geographic distance to mapped waterways (rivers, canals, streams) in OpenStreetMap — not a guess, but still dependent on OpenStreetMap's waterway data being complete and accurate.

Photos

Editor's Pick photos are sourced from Wikimedia Commons / Geograph Britain and Ireland, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA). Some OpenStreetMap-sourced pubs may show a photo where the OSM entry itself links to one. Most pubs currently show no photo — we don't use stock imagery or AI-generated images to fill this gap, since showing a photo of a different building would be misleading.

No affiliation

PubFilter is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any pub, brewery, or pub chain listed on this site.

Monetisation

This prototype does not currently carry ads, affiliate links, or paid placements. If that changes, any sponsored or paid content will be clearly labelled as such, and will never silently affect how pubs are ranked or filtered against genuine search results.

Corrections

Spotted something wrong — a closed pub, an inaccurate detail, a pub that should be dog-friendly but isn't tagged as such? Corrections to OpenStreetMap data can be made directly at openstreetmap.org and will flow through automatically. For Editor's Picks, get in touch via the contact details on HolidayFilter.
